MGS Happy Hour – Brian Beauvais
March 25 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
We are excited to bring our next speaker, Brian Beauvais, into town on Wednesday March 25. Brian will be joining us from Cody, WY, to give his talk Jaggar Revisited: Photographing the 1893 Absaroka Expedition. Thomas Jaggar was a geologist under Arnold Hague in the latest 1800s, and both were fundamental in some of the first geologic mapping of Yellowstone and the surrounding area. Brian has rephotographed some of these photo locations shown in Jaggar’s reports (example in flyer here).
Usual place and time: Poly’s Place (1704 Poly Dr., Billings – across from Rocky Mountain College). Social hour from 5:30-6:30, followed by the talk starting at 6:30 and time for questions after. Pizza seems to be working well for people so we will be sure to have some waiting for you, and as always the event is BYOB (bring your own wine opener, too). There will not be a barista on staff, so be sure to bring whatever drinks you may want (water and cups are available).
Students are $free, MGS members are $10, and non-members are $20. We will have forms to join or renew at the event.
Always good to learn a little about the history of geology, geologists, and natural science in our area.
We look forward to seeing you!
