MGS Happy Hour: Billings & Missoula
May 9 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us Thursday May 9th in Billings and Missoula from 5–8 pm, with a social hour from 5–6 pm, and talk starting at 6:30 pm. Please see the flyer here for more information.
Our speaker will be Rob Diedrich, who most recently served as the president of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists in 2022. He will be presenting “From Quarry to Icon: Unveiling the Timeless Legacy of Colorado’s Yule Marble” where he will discuss the geology and importance of this building stone that is prevalent in architecture from Montana to Washington DC.
Billings attendees:
For those attending in Billings, the event will be live at the usual location: Bighorn Resort at 1801 Majestic Lane, Billings MT 59102. Dinner will be from 6–6:30 pm at the usual fare: $30 for members, $40 for non-members (guests), and $10 for students.
Missoula attendees:
For those attending in Missoula, the Watch Party will be held at Imagine Nation Brewing at 1151 W Broadway St, Missoula, MT 59802. Imagine Nation has drinks and food available for purchase. The talk is in the Community Center Room. We are accepting donations and will offer the ability to join or renew MGS membership.
Please be sure to RSVP by Monday May 6th, and to specify if you will be joining us in Billings or Missoula.
